Uploading/editing your site template using Cpanel

Most host this day offer "free hosting control panel" for each host account. We have special hosting + designs package for your need.
There are others hosting control panel available however for this tutorial we going to walk you through c-panel.
You need to have hosting control panel such as c-panel feature where you host your site.

1.Login to your cpanel:
Open your browser type on your browser address bar http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel

2.Type your user name and pass-word
Your host provides you with this information. If you use your own computer you may check the "remember my password", so you do not need to retype them the next time you visited. Hit ok.

3. File manager
Once you go inside the C-panel, you will find a lot of tools that you can use to control and manage your site.
Look for FILE MANAGER. This is the area where you manage your files. Inside "file manager" there are a lot of different folder, each folder has there own purposes/use. For your visitor to be able to view your web pages you need to upload them to certain area/folder. That is public_html folderfolder
Other host control panel might call the folder diffrently, your host supposes to tell you where the files should go.

4. Look for the public_html folder
Click the public_html folder icon, to open the folder.
If you just sign up with your host most likely you will see a Cgi-bin folder and other folder, but it's depends some hosts give you more features in your hosting package.In this folder where we want to put our index.html and our flash movie file.

Please read this important note:
When we design the template we arrange to put images inside "images" folder and the text file inside "txt" or "data" folder.
Please read the readme files that come with the template.
Donot change the structure of the site or else your flash file will not be able to find the information that needed to "play"

5.Let's upload our index.html
Look for "Upload file(s)" on our example the icon look like an arrow.
Click the button and it will open up a page.
Now you will have to click the "browse button" and look where you put your index.html and the movie that you want to upload. Check your desktop.
After you find them hit the "upload" button On the right side of the screen it will show the upload status, if it is successful you will see your index.html and your flash movie inside the public_htm folder.(if you do not see scroll down, most likely on the left side of your window)

6. Create a new folder call "txt" or "data" and "images" folder
Scroll up you until you see a button 'Create New Folder"
Click the button, on the right side of the screen , there is an input form where you named your folder type txt (no quote)
Hit Create On the left you should see the txt folder has been created.

Do the same step for "images" folder

7.Upload your text files into txt folder
click the txt folder to open the folder, if you notice on the top you will see a status telling where you are
/ public_html / txt / (Current Folder) Now you are inside the txt folder.
Here is where you should upload all your text files.
Look for the Upload button, and upload them exactly how you upload your index.html and your flash movie.

8. Upload your images into image folder
If you have a design using jpg images upload them to the image folder If not you do not need to create the image folder.

9. Let's preview our site/upload.
Open a new window, we want to keep the window we are using for editing Go to your site www. yourdomain.com, if you upload them right and successful you should see your site live.

That it.! you just upload your site templates.

If you donot see your flash file "playing" here couple points to check.

1. Index.html and the flash movie have to be inside public_html folder.
2. The txt folder has to be inside public_html folder
3. All the text has to be inside txt folder. (directory1.txt,directory2.txt....)
4. Clear your cache.
For IE: go to Tools > internet options Hit ...delete cookies and delete files and refresh your browser.
For FIREFOX: go to Tools > Options > Clear Cookies and Cache and refresh your browser.
Keep this new window open to preview the site while you keep the previous window open for editing.

10. After your successful upload.
Let Edit your text file. Go back to your editing window. We are going to open our text file.
( the name of the text file diffrent from design to design, the function basiclly the same.In general one text file consist of variables which control the navigation other for content.

Inside txt folder / public_html / txt / (Current Folder)
Click menu.txt, notice on the right side there is a menu of what you want to do with the file.
Click "Edit File", it will open up a new window.
For example let change variable
&companyname = YOURCOMPANY

Change YOURCOMPANY to any name you want ( donot delete any other characters)
scroll down and click save

If you go back to the preview window and hit refresh you will not see the changes, because your flash file is playing your old text file before you make the changes.
You need to clear your cache again...tools internet options...
delete cookies OK
delete files OK
And refresh your browser.

You should see your changes. Now after you learn how to go to your Cpanel upload files and make changes to one of your txt file.You can use any computer, anytime to update your site.
